Meet a #MedCat: Serah W. Mbugua Born in Kenya and raised in South Africa, Serah now calls Phoenix home. The third-year medical student earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Arizona. She loves cooking, spending time with friends and watching Korean dramas. Serah speaks 5 languages and translates at CUP clinics serving refugee patients. “I have met patients from all around the world who were able to connect with me better [using] one of the languages I speak. I hope to continue meeting patients who I can help better understand their medical conditions by translating. I hope to match this coming year into emergency medicine and become the physician I've always dreamt of, helping people at their most critical times.”
